I want to consider these issues from a biblical perspective. The Christian’s Bible has been around for 2000 + years. Its messages are for every individual on the face of the earth; regardless of whether you follow any particular religion, or not. The word of God is universal in its scope.

God the Judge of All

Do you believe in God? Do you believe there is a God; a Supreme Being? Do you believe there is a Creator God? Do you believe there is a true and living God? Why am I asking these questions? You and I need to establish what you believe. We need to see if your belief is based on reality, or not.

Are you one of those people who do not believe in a Supreme Being? Are you one of those people who believe in the Theory of Evolution? Strange isn't it how the figment of one man's imagination has so caught the imaginations of millions and millions of people all over the world. Why is this so? It's because this theory leaves the Creator God out of the 'big picture'. If there is no God then I am not accountable to Him for my life and actions; a very convenient way of sweeping the truth under the carpet. If there is no true and living God then there would not be any punishment for my sins.

Perhaps an illustration will help. I live in Brookfield a suburb of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. The main street of Brisbane is Queen Street. Now if I tell you that the main street of Brisbane is Queen Street and you choose not to believe me; that will not alter the fact that Queen Street in the main street of Brisbane. Your disbelief will not alter the truth of the matter. You can talk until you are blue in the face - but your error will not cover up an obvious truth.

The current premise to explain the origin of the universe and indeed even mankind is to cling to the 'Big Bang Theory'. In other words everything started with a big bang; then things started expanding and somehow miraculously started to form planets and stars etc. Then on our own planet Earth very simple life forms began to evolve into higher forms of life. Yes and even mankind began to evolve from the apes! This is all starting to sound rather stupid isn't it? Where did the elements that caused the so called big bang come from? You know every big bang I have ever seen or heard has not built things up but instead it has caused destruction and sometimes massive destruction!

There are none so blind as those that don't want to see! There are none so deaf as those that don't want to hear! The Book of Romans in the Holy Scriptures gives us a good reason why mankind has such a negative outlook when it comes to the true and living God.

Romans 8:7
"Because the carnal mind is enmity [hostile] against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be."

Mankind in their natural state is hostile towards God, whether consciously or subconsciously. We don't want God to rule over us. This is due to our sinful nature inherited from Adam and Eve. Their sinful natures have been passed down from generation to generation.

In Romans chapter 1 we get a clear picture of man in his fallen state.

Romans 1:18-25
"(18) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
(19) because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
(20) For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
(21) because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
(22) Professing to be wise, they became fools,
(23) and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
(24) Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonour their bodies among themselves,
(25) who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen."

Psalms 19:1-3
"(1) The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament [sky] shows His handiwork.
(2) Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge.
(3) There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard."

 Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Galatians 6:7
"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."

John 5:22-23
"(22) For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,
(23) that all should honour the Son just as they honour the Father. He who does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who sent Him."

There is a coming day of judgement for all ungodly sinners.

Revelation 20:11-15
"(11) Then I saw a great white throne and Him [the Son] who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.
(12) And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
(13) The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
(14) Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
(15) And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."

Who is the Son? It is none other than Jesus of Nazareth, the Lord Jesus Christ. In Revelation chapter 20 He sits in judgement on the Great White Throne.

What type of sinners end up in the Lake of Fire? Let's look at Revelation 21:8:
"But the cowardly [fearful], unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

So you have had a look through the list of sinners and maybe you reckon you don't fit into any of the categories. Let's have a closer look.  Are you afraid to trust in the true and living God? If not, why are you still unsaved? Maybe you simply don't believe in this religious malarkey. Then you are an unbeliever! Have you ever done anything abominable? If so, your conscience will convict you.

Have you ever been guilty of murdering anyone? Have you ever been or are sexually immoral? Any sex outside the legal marriage between a man and woman is classified as fornication or adultery. Have you ever practised sorcery, witchcraft, soothsaying, or played around with the 'spirit' world? Have you been guilty of idolatry? Anything at all that comes between God and His rightful worship is idolatry.

"And all liars", I think this is the category where everyone comes unstuck. I don't believe there is a person alive today who has not been a liar at some time in their life. A lie is a falsehood. There are lies of commission and omission. If you conceal a matter you are lying about it. The act of deceit is a form of lying.

So you have been found out! What are you going to do about it? In Romans 6:23 we saw that the wages of sin is death   - ultimately the Lake of Fire. However the rest of the verse clearly tells us that, "...the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." If you are prepared to confess your sins to the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Lord and Saviour you will have eternal life! There is no if, but, or maybe - you will be saved forever.
