Romans 14:11, 12 states, " (11) For it is written: 'As I live,
says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me and every tongue shall confess to God.'
(12) So then each of us shall give an account of himself to God."
Does the thought of this scare you? Does it fill you with dread? If it
does, you have a healthy conscience working on your behalf.
You don't have to be reminded by anyone when you sin; your conscience
convicts you! Perhaps you have gotten away with things in your life that others
don't see. But, God sees it all and it is being recorded in heaven. You will
have to give an account of everything in your life to God.
Why does God point these matters out to you? It is because He does not
want you to die in your sins. Salvation occurs this side of the grave. Death
closes the door to salvation: it is too late.
Let's look at what happens to those who die unrepentant in their sins.
Revelation 20:11, 12, 15, "(11) Then I saw a great white throne
and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away. And
there was found no place for them. (12) And I saw the dead, small and great,
standing before God. and books were opened. And another book was opened, which
is the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the
things written in the books... (15) And anyone not found written in the Book of
Life was cast into the lake of fire."
Who is the Judge? None other than Jesus Christ, the Son of God. John
5:22, "For the Father judges no one,
but has committed all judgement to the Son. The Judge on the great white
throne is the Lord Jesus Christ!
All those people who blaspheme God, who use the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ as a swear word - they must give an account of themselves to Him. The
books will be opened! At the great white throne every sin will be brought to
light and revealed. "...the dead
were judged according to their works..." It is a grim, sombre,
dreadful place to be!
If you stand before the Judge at the great white throne; there is no
escape - there is no pardon - there is no clemency - there is no parole period!
It is too late! The Lake of Fire awaits you!
Galatians 6:7, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;
for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."
Let's look on the bright side. You can be saved from all this today! Romans
10:9, 10 states, "(9) ...if you
confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (10) For with the heart one
believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation."
Born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ will not appear before
the great white throne to be judged!
